chapter four

Kakashi knocked on the door leading to the Hokages office.
           "You're late! come in!" said a frustrated voice. Kakashi complied and opened the door slowly and stepped in.
           "So....What is it you wanted to speak about, Hokage?" He asked ignoring the frown on his leaders face.
           "..............It's has to do with those Ethereal Ninjas...."She said reading some documents.
           "What about them?" He knew it was about those new ninjas just what did she wish to speak about them.
           "You know they all have bloodline traits, and that's the reason why you were chosen to take care of them. To make them feel more comfortable." She said. Kakashi looked at her questioningly. "Your squad contains unique members. You and Sasuke Uchiha who have the Sharingan...And-"She said.
            "...And Naruto Uzumaki who has the Kyuubi sealed within him..." He interrupted. She looked at him.
            "Exactly. That's right. Yes, they may not know about it but surely they can sense that they are not all that different. Though this makes me concerned. Is their group planning some kind of attack? And why would they reveal their presence? They did so well in making themselves unknown to others. But how? Surely, their would have been some clue hinting to their existence.....Yet I'm not able to find any...But one. " She said.
            "Really, what is it?" Kakashi said taking a step closer to the hokage's desk.
            "...One so far, anyway. And I'm not even sure about it. Here, take a look take a look at this document, it has to do with a supposed fantomu. It's happened recently as well; a few days before those ninjas arrived" She said as she rummaged through her papers and handed one to Kakashi. He took the paper and began to read curiously. "It's a report about a complex led by a band of assassins that recently rose up. I was going to send some ANBU soldiers to take it down..." Tsunade said weaving her fingers together and sitting her elbows on her desk.

    ANBU soldiers were being dispatched to the newly risen complex of assassins to destroy and capture some targets for interrogation as planned by the head of intelligence. However, when the group of soldiers had arrived to the designated location, they had found the building in ruins. They then scouted the area for any signs of survivors and documents containing future plans but found none. Heading east in one direction, one ANBU soldier witnessed a fight ending between an assassin and a mysterious figure in a black cloak. As the ANBU soldier approached the seen while trying to maintain his presence a secret, the mysterious figure caught sight of the soldier and disappeared swiftly. According to this soldier, the person of interest wore a mask with markings of the sun.
       
The rest of the paper just had information about who was head of the operation and who was involved and a description of the site.
       "Interesting..."Kakashi said.
       "Indeed." Tsunade concurred.
       "Though I highly doubt that this person could have taken down the complex alone. He or she must have had help..."Kakashi speculated.
       "Yes, I believe so. The ANBU soldier who witnessed that fantomu said that he was armed with a scythe. " Tsunade stated.
       "Wow, seems like someone likes to play grim reaper." Kakashi joked. Tsunade raised an eyebrow.
       "Well, they didn't find anyone beheaded, Kakashi." She said.  
       "True enough." He said. "After all if all of dead had no heads I'm pretty sure it would have made it's way into this little report."
       " Of course it would have. Meanwhile, I'm still trying to figure out what that last sentence in that letter we received means for our village." Tsunade sighed.
       "ah. you mean that 'Things are not as they seem, leave nothing to risk when abnormalities occur near or within your village' right?" Kakashi asked referring to the letter they received notifying that the Ethereal group was coming. Tsunade nodded tiredly as she organized her papers into a neat stack.
        "I hope it doesn't mean war. If it does, it'll be big trouble, obviously." she sighed. "Anyway, how are those kids? " Tsunade asked changing the subject. Kakashi sweat dropped.
        " they're....alright. Two of them have an attitude problem though. One of them doesn't seem like a fighter and the other seems to lead the group although it's the jounin's job." he said. Tsunade once again raised an eyebrow.
        "....Interesting. I bet they were mad when you picked them up. You're always late Kakashi! Try being on time for a change!" Tsunade scolded. Kakashi scratched his head.
        "Anyway, is this all you wanted to speak to me about? If so, I'll be leaving now." Kakashi said.
        "Yes, you may leave." Tsunade approved. With that Kakashi bowed his head and left.
